Marco didn’t want Adayla to be the one that got away, and ditched his plans to move to Alaska. Now they go on endless adventures together.
We would like to thank you for supporting Marco and Adayla in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
Marco saw Adayla at a mutual friend’s birthday party and from the moment he saw her, he said he knew he needed to know her. They became fast friends, but she never let herself become too interested since he was moving away. While Marco was out multi pitch climbing in Colorado one day, he realized he couldn’t move to Alaska because Adayla was his future. He changed all of his plans to stay, because adventuring wasn’t worth anything unless they were doing it together.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Marco and Adayla had just moved into an old home together. Working on renovations, doing all DIY, because while money is tight, there was something so amazing about doing it themselves. They had had an extremely stressful day trying to get a barn door up, tearing up a wall that had been poorly thrown up by the previous owners. They were tense and frustrated. And it started pouring rain outside. So on a whim they both ran outside into the rain, howling and dancing while the stress washed away.
What would you do with $20,000?At the end of the day, we don’t need the money. We are happy with the life we have. We applied for this, because why not! It’s another little thing to add to our life story together. We would donate the money to humanitarian efforts and some with the wildlife rehab center we volunteer at.
