Connect How did your love story begin?

It’s hard to say where our love story truly began since we have known each other almost all our lives. Though we don’t fully remember it ourselves, his mom tells a story of us in 2nd(?) grade. There was a rollerskating party at our local rink. She watched us skating together until I had to go to the bathroom. Apparently I took too long because Anthony began to worry and braved the women’s bathroom on his skates to make sure I was okay. We emerged hand in hand.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

One of countless that comes to mind is the night of our Jr. prom together. He was driving me home when I expressed to him that I was disappointed they didn’t play more classic or “slow” songs at the dance. When we arrived late at night in the cul-de-sac of my neighborhood, I got out of the car unsuspecting while he cued up Sinatra’s “The Way You Look Tonight” on the aux of the car. Driver’s door open and music up, we held each other tenderly and swayed to the music as a light rain fell on us.

What would you do with $20,000?

We have officially been together for a little over 9 years now and though we are not yet engaged, I’d selfishly like to save the money for our dream wedding that’s as special as our love, as basic as that sounds. I just want to be able to be surrounded by as many loved ones as possible when we officially commit to one another and celebrate our love. I feel that the winnings could help us save more of our own earnings to invest in our future, one where we both long to make a difference.
