Connect How did your love story begin?

My boyfriend and I met during the last semester of senior year. I spotted him in psych class and instantly hoped he’d ask me to prom—but we were seated at opposite ends of the room. One day, our teacher shuffled the seats, and he ended up next to me. We clicked right away. Even after the seating chart reverted, he stayed by me. We didn’t go to prom together, but stayed best friends for five years—until he finally took the leap and asked me out.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

One of our favorite memories is our first date—learning to snowboard together on a small hill in Wisconsin. As total beginners, it felt huge and scary, but Danny’s motto was “send it!” We spent the day falling, laughing, and freezing, but wouldn’t have wanted to learn with anyone else. Now, four years later, we’re skilled snowboarders tackling massive mountains, but we’ll always remember that tiny Midwest hill where it all began.

What would you do with $20,000?

We’re in our late twenties and know we want to get married and start a family soon. Financial strain has delayed those plans, but with $20,000, we could begin right away. We can’t wait to marry our best friend—and someday create a new little best friend who’s the perfect mix of us both.
