How did your love story begin?

We were introduced casually a year before friends realized we might hit it off. Then the sparks flew one hot summer afternoon as we played games in the park, had jumping contests and were being silly as we shyly watched each other until the moon peeked up. Once Lucas asked me out, we soon discovered our shared excitement to rock climb, sing, explore music, speak en Español, and embrace our families and community. We became inseparable, and everyone’s favorite couple instantly!

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

We surprised our guests at our wedding with a singing duet in Spanish that led to a beautifully choreographed salsa dance. From learning the song’s meaningful words together to attending our private dance lesson, it was so special to practice something new together and then make the entire room overflow with joy!

What would you do with $20,000?

We would use this money to buy our own home. We’ve gone from each living in basements, to having to play with the idea of moving in with our parents now married, but having the financial ability to invest in a home that could really be ours would be an answered prayer. We would go from thinking it may not be possible for another decade since we are just public school and university employees, to feeling like we have finally made it closer to living the American dream!
