Connect How did your love story begin?

The lives of an American singer and an Italian pianist collided. During the final opera concert, Isa sang into a hairbrush backstage and Lori “sang” along. They danced. The wordless banter continued at a reception with Lori at the piano and Isa singing. He asked “Are you staying in Italy?” “No, but I will be in Geneva.” After two weeks of hour-long calls, they shared their first kiss. Isa liked him the moment she saw him. She loved him the moment they kissed. She knew him the moment they prayed.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

We never thought we would walk through the Holy Doors in Rome with the love of our lives. After an 8 hour plane ride, our hands intertwined with the rosary weaved between our fingers. Looking into each other’s eyes we began to pray with each step. We prayed for God’s wisdom, patience, and guidance as we navigated time and distance between us. Our faith and love for each other deepened. We love each other more than yesterday but less than tomorrow, and this trip only made that more prevalent.

What would you do with $20,000?

Although we know our love wins over time and distance, as an international couple getting married in May 2026, the biggest costs we face are immigration and housing fees. After investing half of the money, Lorenzo and I would use the remainder to invest in a house in the United States and begin his immigration process so he can start working. The money would help us start building a strong foundation for our future together.
