Met on a dig in Corinth Greece. Married 1990. 34 years of wedded bliss with 4 incredible children and an amazing life of shared experiences
You decide who wins $20,000 and appears in Variety magazine as America’s Favorite Couple
We met while Doug was preparing for medical school at the University of Pennsylvania, and Liz was studying archaeology to get her masters. We went on a dig in Corinth, a town in ancient Greece. The other archaeologists seemed to feel that there was a beautiful connection between us, but we didn’t start dating until we returned to the United States. Things took off quickly after that. We were married two years later. That was 34 years ago, and we can’t imagine living a life without each other!
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Doug’s late parents’ favorite place in the world was Bermuda. They traveled there every year as a couple and sometimes brought their six children with them. There is a magical place in Bermuda called “Spittal Pond,” a beautiful nature preserve. A few years ago Liz and Doug traveled to Bermuda. They spent the day at Spittal Pond walking in Doug’s parents’ footsteps. It was a magical moment and beautiful memory.
What would you do with $20,000?Donate all of it to the Cure VCP foundation! This is an organization that works very hard to establish research to help find a treatment for a very rare, genetic disease called VCP disease. This muscle disease sadly runs in our family. www.cureVCP.org
