Connect How did your love story begin?

We were both in college and working at Target. We went out and had fun. However, the next day she told everyone she would rather lick the inside of a garbage can lid than kiss him again. Somehow, we stayed friends. He went away to school, and we stayed in touch. We wrote the occasional letter and visited when in town. When he graduated, he came back, and we started hanging out as friends. After numerous movies and roller hockey games, we realized we were more than friends and we became a couple.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

After knowing each other for 36 years and being married for almost 29 of those years, it is almost impossible to pick a favorite memory. When we started to talk about it and really think hard, it is the birth of our son. It was a difficult process to get pregnant and not an easy delivery, but we were rewarded with an amazing boy who we have been able to watch grow into a man. Nothing can ever compare to this day.

What would you do with $20,000?

We are both teachers and $20,000 is a huge amount of money to us. We live in a townhouse that is need of some repairs. $20,000 would not fix all of them, but it would definitely help us redo our bathroom which is in desperate need. However, we would not want to be practical with all of the money. We are both huge baseball fans and currently on a journey to visit all of the major league baseball stadiums. We would use a small amount of the money to plan a vacation to tick off a few more stadiums.
