Connect How did your love story begin?

Carlos' aunt planned and chaperoned a small group of us to take our spring break trip to Puerto Rico, where he was born and raised until moving to New York. In April 2012 I visited PR for my 1st time, and what I didn't know at the time was that it would be my first visit of many. Along with 8 other classmates, Carlos and I spent a week in paradise together as friends, but one night and a few too many drinks later, we kissed and the rest was history…

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Too many memories to count 13 years later and the best ones always took place on our love island. During a family trip to Puerto Rico, on March 8th, 2023 Carlos proposed. It only made sense to bring our family and friends from the states back with us to the magical island where it all began. Our wedding day was April 19th, 2025 on the island where I fell in love with the boy next door, in the same town he proposed, surrounded by all our people that supported us from childhood into our thirties.

What would you do with $20,000?

We would use it as a down payment for our future home. We are currently renting a townhome, but know that it isn't a longterm plan for us to stay there. We've been planning to start our family since the destination wedding of our dreams, so this would help us towards securing the home where we can start raising our kids, whether it be in the states near family, or even considering starting new on our love island of Puerto Rico.
