Our love story began when Nick lectured as an alumni. Kristin was one of the students. We knew it then, but distance separated us, so we never got together. After eight years of being in contact, we finally realized that this has to mean something. Nick took a flight to meet her. We had the best time. We spent two more years having a long-distance relationship before we were able to get together and get married. Nick proposed at a theater with a song he wrote just for her. The rest is history.

A standout memory for us was when we went to the Fort Worth Zoo together. We had waited for eight years to see each other, so this was a big moment and our first date. It wasn't just the animals and the atmosphere, but the energy that Kristin exuded, with her vibrant smile, sparkling eyes, and pure enthusiasm, that let Nick's inner child out as well. We were goofy and silly, and we knew then that this was it. It was one of the first of many magical, memorable moments we shared together.

Winning the $20k would help us achieve our most important life goal, which is to have children. Our entire goal has always been to raise a family together. After six years of trying, the $20k would go a long way in helping us through the costly IVF procedure. Another thing we would do is replace my wife's lost wedding ring. My wife has lost over 100 pounds, and her ring slipped off somewhere. I (Nick) want to restore anything lost, so she feels what I already know, that it's okay.
