We met on a dating app in 2013 & were both looking for serious, long term commitment. Someone to build a life with full of love & laughter. We chatted for a couple weeks & decided it was time to meet in person, once we established just how much we had in common as far as our interests & the way our relationship goals aligned. After 5 years together, we got engaged & were married on Halloween, under a full moon, 2 years later.

Shortly after marrying, Kris was diagnosed with Lymphoma & went through chemotherapy with Jocelyn working full time & caring for him as he endured treatment. A year later, the roles reversed when Jocelyn was diagnosed with a rare & aggressive Breast Cancer. Now Kris is working full time again & caring for her, as her condition has worsened so she is unable to work due to treatment/side effects. It’s not so much a favorite memory as it is a testament to our love & our commitment to one other.

20k would pay off what’s left of our car loans with a small amount left over, giving us a reprieve from the financial burden of back-to-back cancer diagnoses while trying to make ends meet on a limited income. This would have a lasting impact by eliminating a major monthly expense while helping us stay ahead of our other expenses. We would be able to regain a foothold on our financial safety net so that we can focus on LIVING, not just surviving with whatever time we have left together.
