He’s the real life Red Foreman, like Jack Lemon for the modern day grump &I’m his “Kitty”.He’s also sober now, which brought us back together
We would like to thank you for supporting Kirk & Carrie in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
Our love story began in the most 21st-century way possible: a mutual swipe right on Bumble. Our profiles were the digital equivalent of a grammar enthusiast’s dream. Kirk’s bio boasted, “Oxford comma enthusiast; here for the wordplay,” while Carrie’s declared, “Grammar nerd seeking someone who knows the difference between ‘your’ and ‘you’re’.” It was a match made in linguistic heaven.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? On our first date, Kirk proclaimed to one of our mutual friends that he loved me, little did he know it was “love at first sight for me too”. I’ve never let him live it down. He’s normally a very reserved person, so this was out of character. This along with his sobriety are my or our favorite memories. The letter he wrote after almost a year sober, the strength it took to write it& the instant connection we felt again. Sometimes things have to fall apart to come back together even stronger.
What would you do with $20,000?We would get him back on the road, immediately and use the rest as a down payment on a house. He did the hard work already by getting sober. It’s the insurance and reinstatement fees, etc that are holding him back from actually enjoying his success. And, while we make decent salaries, this housing market is tough. $20,000 would be life-changing for all of us.
