Kim's best friend Griska fell in love with Nathan from afar but was too scared to introduce herself. One night Kim insisted she come with her to Nate's apartment so Kim could introduce them even though Kim had never formally met him either. Kim knocked on his door and when he opened it she said "I'm Kim and this is Griska and we've heard you have no friends so we are here to be your friends." The sparks didn't fly, mostly because Nate was 6'5" and Griska was only 5'. Kim however was 5'7"...

When Nate asked me to marry him it was on a walk in a nature preserve at night with a lot of snow on the ground. It would have been romantic except we heard what sounded like a scream in the distance. I said to Nate - "Let's head back before we get murdered." He said "Okay, but first I have to ask you a question, and I'm going to get down on my knees to do it." I was so shocked I fell over backwards in the snow - he had to pick me up and dust me off before he could finish proposing.

Kim specializes in trauma and addiction therapy and in January of 2025 she started SAFE & SOUND Therapy LLC (www.safeandsoundtherapy.com). Nate is a pastor and he volunteers as a chaplain to police officers in Harrisburg and we would also use some of our winnings to support his work with them!
