You decide who wins $20,000 and appears in Variety magazine as America’s Favorite Couple
This love story began in Arizona, where Kim had just started a job at a brain and body donation institute. Through a new coworker, she met Hashi on a Saturday night out. Amid the crowd, Kim stood out-carrying both a pager and Blackberry. She was driven and brilliant. Hashi was cheeky and confident. Group hang outs and late night drive thrus at Jack in the Box turned chance into lasting love.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? In 2021, Kim and Hashi completed their second Ironman Arizona- just a year after losing Kim’s stepfather and moving cross-country. Training became therapy during those isolating times. Kim raced with a knee injury and they battled brutal winds together. Hashi literally supported her during the final 8 miles. They crossed the finish line just an hour before cutoff, hands in the air, proud and exhausted. It wasn’t their fastest, but meant the most.
What would you do with $20,000?We’d use the money to travel to Sri Lanka for a long-awaited vow renewal. As young newlyweds, we couldn’t afford a wedding there. Kim would finally wear a traditional wedding saree and we’d celebrate with Hashi’s family. We’d also fly Kim’s mom in- she’s never visited his homeland or met his father! Honoring our love where Hashi’s story began would mean the world.
