Life was challenging growing up. I was abandoned at 13 yrs old. At 19, I changed the trajectory of my life.I wrote a play, Listen to the Rain. I was pitching it to a drama class & was backstage as they wrapped up. Students had to sing. Melinda was up. I only heard her angelic voice from backstage. She had my heart on the first note. I fell in love with her voice first. We've been together ever since & we've made it a point to work together while creating the family I always dreamed of.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?One that stands out is when we revisited Maui, our honeymoon trip, in 2021. We wanted to recreate a photo we took on the beach, but this time, our children were with us. That July marked our 28th anniversary. It was an overwhelming moment for us. So much has happened in those 28 years, some challenging, but mostly great things. The smell of all the plumeria flowers, the backdrop of the Pacific Ocean, and the family we created -where our adventure began. That moment was breathtaking.
What would you do with $20,000?Well, for being an artist & my wife a music teacher, there is plenty to take care of. We'd give some to our children to help with their student loans. Pay off a bill or 2. But then... I feel we should do something as a family -together. I would make a trip to the new Epic Universe or maybe Italy. Not sure. We would decide together, but definitely some money would be used to celebrate our love and 32nd year of marriage which is July 3. Melinda gave me the family I always knew could exist.
