We met NYE 2011 at a club (yes, I was too young to be there 🙈). He walked in, and all my friends were like “Daaamn!”, I acted unbothered. But truth is, I kept sneaking glances. Right before closing, I told the manager, “The night would’ve been better if I danced with him.” He brought Kenny over, bachata started, we danced, I gave him my number… and he texted me the next day. The rest is history.

On our wedding day, we did a “first touch” instead of a first look, just holding hands around a wall, sharing quiet words. We hadn’t seen each other all day, and that moment calmed every nerve. It reminded us why we were saying ‘yes’ to forever. Later, when everyone stepped outside, we had one last private dance, just us, no cameras, no noise, my head on his chest, completely at peace. We still talk about that moment.

We’d use it toward a down payment for a new home closer to San Antonio. I recently made a big career move that has me living out of hotels, and the distance makes time together hard. A move would let us be home more, together. If not a house, we’ve also dreamed of opening a coffee shop in Puerto Rico, this would bring us one step closer to building something rooted in both love and legacy.
