Ease of communication. Shared sense of community-mindedness. Love of analog, antiques, careful craftsmanship. Great hair.
We would like to thank you for supporting Ken and Mimi in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
With a jar of toe nails, hot dog socks, an early commitment to braid our hair together, and many hours scouring antique shops.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Impossible to narrow to one. The impossible is always happening when they are together- like taking a winter walk and hearing a dog bark “Jingle Bells.” Currently they'd have to say the best memory is their recent engagement day. Ken made Mimi a mixtape of meaningful songs, with dedications recorded by friends and family, and gave it to her to listen on a boombox riverside at their favorite little spot in the mountains. The tape ended with Ken on one knee and Mimi weeping. She said yes though.
What would you do with $20,000?Launch their life together! They are recently engaged after nearly 50 years looking for a friendly, thoughtful love like this. That would go a long way in throwing a party to celebrate with loved ones, and open a Japanese stationery store where Ken and Mimi can share their love of journaling and handwriting letters with community.
