How did your love story begin?

It began in the most love filled place, a bar. Just kidding—for years I knew his cousin and had been sharing my thoughts of love. I’m young, but I had been through some rough stuff. His cousin told Kema all about me, how I was a great girl, and he should come see me. He says the moment he laid eyes on me, he fell in love. We started as friends, with much hesitation on my side. I didn’t feel ready. He’d been single for years, and me only a few months. In no time, he changed my mind.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

My favorite would have to be our first trip together. On a Friday, we were sat at home watching a movie, and I was scrolling on AirBnb. (We had been discussing going away in a month or so) But, while scrolling, I found a cute house for the weekend in Canada. $200 for the weekend, in the dead of winter. With no hesitation, we both got up, packed our bags and confirmed our reservation. We started our 8 hour trip and it was so beautiful. It was -11 outside but no regrets. Spontaneity at its finest

What would you do with $20,000?

The money would help us out so much. We’d be able to start our lives, pay off some debts and get a place of our own. We live with my parents, as it isn’t easy here in NYC. Hopefully this would mean we could start thinking about moving in together, and continuing to grow with one another. Who knows, maybe even save some for a future little one.
