Connect How did your love story begin?

We met in high school and dated when we were 17, then promptly in true dramatic teenage fashion, had a public breakup and I cried about how “I was going to marry him”! Life has a funny way of working out… we came across each other years later at 27 years old, shortly after I had moved back home from volunteering overseas, and fast forward 5 years, we’re married! And never been happier.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Most would expect me to say, our wedding, buying our first house, or something like that… but honestly- my favorite memory was waking up on a random Saturday and telling David I missed my random adventures and felt like I was loosing that part of myself. He immediately got dressed and told me to get in the car, where we drove to Michigan (we live in Ohio) for the day to go to the aquarium and have dinner, and headed back home that night. All so I could keep my adventurous side alive.

What would you do with $20,000?

With 20,000$ we would take a volunteer trip. Volunteering in Africa was one of the most amazing life changing things I have ever done. And I have wanted to share that experience with David for years, and he dreams of a time he can go and see first hand the change you can make both for the area you’re volunteering at, but also for yourself. But volunteering comes with costs. With 20,000$ we would be able to finally afford to volunteer together!
