Tom newly separated, in the Navy, and I was dating his friend, a civilian in the shipyard. His friend, a single dad whose sitter cancelled asked me over to watch a movie and asked if it was ok if his friend stayed. I said yes. When I got there the friend answered the door. Blue eyes and built like a brick house, my heart skipped a beat when he introduced himself. A few weeks later I broke up with the friend. Tom took his date home, returned the next morning with roses saying who are we kidding.

We had to elope! His ship the USSMissouri, was given orders to go overseas for 6 months. Three days after getting married he shipped out. During that time I entered the KIISmas wish contest on KIIS FM. One morning Rick Dee’s called and said that they were sending me to meet the ship when it pulled into Hawaii for an all expense paid honeymoon! It was a total surprise for Tom and the best!

We’d travel! Over the years life has thrown many obstacles at us. Tom has had multiple back surgeries, causing him to not be able to work. I went back to school and became a teacher. I’m preparing to start my last year in education and we deserve to go out and see the world!
