Connect How did your love story begin?

We met on tinder originally funny enough. Then later on we discovered we were both involved in our local music scene. We went to the same house show and started talking. On our first date we stayed up talking in the car till 4am. On our second date we slept in the car overnight because we didn’t want to leave each other.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Going to Turkey together is something we’ll never forget. Neither of us had much prior chance to see the world before, but exposure to different cultures is vital to us. We wanted an authentic local experience so we went to eastern Turkey and stayed at a less popular hotel run by a family and also stayed in a backpacking hostel. The rock formations and fresh pomegranate juice we had while horseback riding is our favorite memory together. We also ended the trip with matching pomegranate tattoos.

What would you do with $20,000?

The main thing would be helping Mike’s mom with her house. It’s in rough shape and in need of some fixes that are safety concerns. We’d also put money toward education/ classes to try to jump start careers for us. Mike is a jazz guitar major with an interest in architecture and wants to continue college. Joy acts, models and is a personal stylist who’d love to take a business class or film production class. Neither of us come from money so we want to help out and support ourselves and our future
