We would like to thank you for supporting Jorge & Yoko in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
We first saw each other on campus at SFSU in the Latinx Student Center. We had never seen the other before and curiosity and attraction brought us together into a flirtatious conversation in front of our peers. Everyone else melted into the background. That first conversation lit a fire to a flame of inseparableness.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?We went camping and took two lightsabers to fulfill Jorge’s childhood want of buying whatever toy he wanted. After dinner we asked those camping around us for firewood. No one had any left until a mom and two kids gave us two logs. We gave the kids our lightsabers. We didn’t need them anymore. Hearing and watching them play—an “Ow!” from afar—kept us giddy and laughing while we held each other under a sparkling sky.
What would you do with $20,000?We will travel to Mexico, taking a brief break from our busy lives—Jorge’s a bartender in SF and Yoko is a freelance film producer. We will move from our 200sqft studio apartment into somewhere much bigger. We will be secure as young early 20 year-olds hustling in this speedy city that is San Francisco.
