Connect How did your love story begin?

We both happened to be in the same city on the same night, but neither of us were from that city. He wouldn’t stop staring at me across the bar so I wrote my number on a napkin, hid in the bathroom, and made my best friend give him the napkin. Chris still has the napkin over 2 years later (we framed it). He ended up meeting us at a different bar later that night (both sober) and we hung out until 3am even though I had work at 6:30am the next morning, which Chris came to visit me at too!

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

So many moments but we often talk about a trip we took to Tennessee. We were doing long distance at the time and we found an Airbnb that was halfway between us. That whole trip just felt perfect and I think we both saw a glimpse of what life together could look like. We also found our favorite restaurant of all time, a diner in Knoxville called Rami’s! That is our cat’s name now too.

What would you do with $20,000?

Well we actually experienced an apartment fire earlier this year and rebuilding has been a lot on both of us. The fire was declared a total loss and we ended up having to move out of state, and I think people underestimate the amount you lose in a fire like that. Not just items but sentimental things. While we could use the money to rebuy our physical belongings, I think we learned we care much more about our experiences together. So we’d probably use it for more of those!
