Well for starters, we met at an anime convention! We conveniently were dressed up as a couple from a video game. Totally unplanned !
We would like to thank you for supporting Johnny and Arianna! Or Johnianna in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
I almost didn’t go to that anime convention, but it led me to John. We met cosplaying characters who were together in-game, and our sisters made sure we spent the weekend together. On the last day, he gave me a keychain before we said goodbye, four hours apart. We talked nonstop for months, then started dating. John transferred to my college so we could be together, and now we’re engaged, getting married this August, all because I went to that convention.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? The day we got engaged is my favorite memory. I always joked that the man I’d marry would get me a $50 Nintendo gift card, and it meant so much to me. When John proposed, he said he dropped something and pointed to the floor. There it was! The gift card. Then he pulled out the ring and asked me to marry him. It was sweet, thoughtful, and so perfectly us, turning a small dream I’d held onto for years into the start of our forever. Nerds forever!
What would you do with $20,000?Due to college expenses, both not having steady jobs yet, and our wedding on the way, we don’t plan to have a honeymoon. There are just more important things to pay for. This money would be our chance to have a wonderful trip and celebrate our marriage! It would also be used for future finances that will surely start piling up.
