How did your love story begin?

A blind date! It was the end of summer 1979 (I was 16, he was 19) and mutual friends set us up on a blind date. We double-dated with our friends - I burned my mouth on pizza; we went to the dirt track for the races (I'd never been, he was a regular); he held my hand before he even said 10 words to me and I was smitten!! He says he knew I was the one when he picked me up for our first date - it took me a week or so to know!

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

The night he "popped the question" and I said "YES!" I knew it was coming, I just didn't know when. It was an amazing night: dinner at our favorite "fern bar". Then, a visit to "our spot", the place where we had parked so many times and confided in each other about our lives, our pasts, our present and our future. I thought it was one of our usual dates, then, BAM, he pulled out the ring, asked with tears in his eyes and I said "YES" with just as many tears in mine! Never a second a thought!

What would you do with $20,000?

$20,000 would be such a blessing to us, our family and our community! We have a couple of local non-profits that we support and that money would allow us to make substantial donations to help these charities help more of our community members in need! We would also use part of the money to support our grandkids' dreams - they are talented in so many areas and we love being able to help them!
