Connect How did your love story begin?

Joel was working behind the desk at a bank & I (Lilah) desperately needed a debit card. Joel said there was a problem with the computer to give us time to talk and we instantly hit it off. Then Joel gave me his business card & said “If you need ANYTHING.. let me know.” Of course he didn’t leave his number on the card. I was wondering if I misread the signals, but I ended up looking him up on Instagram and he was the first one that popped up! I messaged him & we’ve been together ever since.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Our favorite memory was when we unexpectedly found our wedding song. After Joel proposed, we planned on eloping pretty quickly. We still wanted a song to commemorate our special day, but we were having a hard time finding a song that captured our love. During a long drive a couple weeks before our wedding, we put Engelbert Humperdinck on shuffle. His song “Love Me With All of Your Heart” came on immediately. We both looked at each other and started crying and knew that we found the one.

What would you do with $20,000?

We would use it towards a down payment on a house. Both of us have had to build ourselves up from nothing, and we still have a ways to go. It is our dream to own our own home and have a family. This money would be an incredible blessing.
