How did your love story begin?

Neither of us had much luck with online dating apps, but we both happened to be on Our Time. I was ready to throw in the towel and so was he, but I was compelled to look just one more time. I came upon his profile and liked what I saw. I wrote a long hello but just before I hit send I decided to delete it. I had no idea what to say! So I dug down deep to try to figure out what to do and came up with this brilliant idea, and decided to just say, “Hi”. He wrote back and we’ve been together since!

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

We bought a camper together this summer and have been thoroughly enjoying camping! We set it up in Joel’s yard the first weekend we had it, to make sure everything worked. Then we went camping in a nearby town and it was so very relaxing that we can’t wait to go again! Our favorite part is relaxing in front of a campfire. The fresh air, being out in nature, kayaking, grilling food and meeting new people will fill our weekends up for the summer months!

What would you do with $20,000?

I think we would seriously consider using it as a down payment on a house. Joel is currently his elderly mother’s caregiver. He lives with her to make sure she has everything she needs and also helps maintain her property. We would love to build a home next to his mom’s so she can continue to live in her favorite place - her home. I live only about 20 minutes away from them but we long for the time when we will be together every day.
