Connect How did your love story begin?

It was definitely not the traditional meet cute. We worked together at an elementary school under a principal who was not the best. I asked her to borrow a vacuum to clean up some construction mess in my library and she called him down and yelled at him because he was head custodian, even though he had nothing to do with it. I was mortified and Facebook stalked him so I could send an apology over messenger. We immediately clicked and became friends, sometimes you just know a kindred soul.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

It’s hard to pick just one but I think my favorite happens to be at Disneyland. We stayed in the park until close on our last night to have a little alone time. It was a soft warm night and we ate at the Bengal bbq laughing and people watching as the crowds thinned, walked through New Orleans Square holding hands and made the last boat of the night on Pirates. It was magic as only Disney can be. The lights, the atmosphere, in that moment everything was right in the world.

What would you do with $20,000?

$20,000 would be life changing for us. We are trying to get our small businesses off the ground while taking care of our girls. Money is very tight for us, this would let us have the breathing room we need to survive and hopefully thrive. We moved home to be with my dad after my mom passed away and to save some money to get on our feet and my dad unexpectedly passed away leaving us a mortgage on top of everything else. Married life has been a series of grief and obstacles but we have each other.
