We are high school sweethearts and have been together since 1996. We own a small business- Geek & Chic. He’s the geek and I’m the chic.
You decide who wins $20,000 and appears in Variety magazine as America’s Favorite Couple
Our love story began at a house party in high school in 1996. The band Jim was in at the time, Transgression, was playing. I had always seen Jim in the hallways at school and thought he was a cutie but when I saw him perform it was honestly love at first sight. We started dating in August of 1996 and have pretty much been together ever since.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Jim is still a musician. When I was teaching and we still lived in NJ, I had the summers off. I would accompany Jim on his tours. He was a one man band at the time and we would take a road trip every summer across the US visiting as many states as we could. We would explore by day and then he would perform at different venues each night. Experiencing and exploring the beauty of our own country together was and still is incredible.
What would you do with $20,000?We got married in 2007 and were both deeply committed to our jobs. He worked in advertising and I was a teacher at the time. We did not go on a honeymoon because we didn't want to take the time off of work. Thankfully we now live a much more balanced life out in San Diego which is seriously amazing. We would use the $20,000 to finally go on a honeymoon (almost 18 years later) to Japan.
