Connect How did your love story begin?

We matched on Bumble during the pandemic, and Russell became my only Bumble date ever! We agreed to go bowling, but I told Russell I was a little worried about being in public. Before our date, Russell called the bowling alley and learned it was very busy. So, he called around, found a quieter bowling alley and moved our date there. I was touched that Russell listened to my concern and took the time to find a place where I could feel comfortable for our date.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Our favorite memory together so far – besides our wedding day! – is adding our goldendoodle Maverick to our family. Shortly after settling into our home, I began to ask Jess about getting a puppy. It took some convincing, but after a few months, she agreed. I found a breeder and Jess immediately fell in love with one of the puppies. As it turned out, he was the only puppy still available out of his litter of six. Maverick has been a twinkle in our eyes ever since!

What would you do with $20,000?

We believe in living intentionally in the present and planning thoughtfully for the future, so we would split the $20,000 in a way that reflects this. We would invest half of the money, specifically saving for a baby that we are hoping to add to our family soon. We also share a deep love of travel, so we would put the other half of the money towards trips we hope to take in the next few years. Greece, Finland, Turkey, Egypt and Switzerland are our current top five future trip destinations!
