How did your love story begin?

2013 grad school! We were getting our MAs in theatre, Jess for directing, Eanna for acting, and we kept getting paired on projects (we still do) and fell in love. Eanna is from Ireland and Jess from California, but we spoke the same language like we’d known each other forever. After school we got through long-distance for a year and a half, until we decided to move to Dublin to build a home together. The next year we moved to Vancouver to try it out, before we were married and moved to LA!

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Eanna’s first trip visiting CA we decided to take a road trip up the coast. We stopped at all the cute towns and decided last minute to camp in Big Sur! There was one spot left at a site and we got supplies for foil stew and s’mores at the little general store down the road. We cooked and laughed and sang over a fire. It was one of those easy and magical nights that told us both we’d make it as a couple. The next day we managed to drive up to meet one of Jess’ oldest friends in San Francisco!

What would you do with $20,000?

While we do have a lot of student debt, what we do best is projects together. We would produce a play we’ve been wanting to do that a dear friend wrote. It’s been touring Europe but this would be the US premiere! It’s follows the life of a couple from when they meet to old age, when one of them gets Alzheimer’s. It’s based on extensive researching of music’s ability to bring lucidity to those suffering from dementia. They keep being able to come back to each other through music. Like we did!
