We’ve done “for richer or poorer, in sickness and health” from the start. It’s all part of the adventure! 10 years is just the beginning.
You decide who wins $20,000 and appears in Variety magazine as America’s Favorite Couple
I had run a personals ad on Craigslist and he responded. We met at a Panera the following Sunday. It was instantly comfortable. I was far too jaded to believe in love at first sight, but by Wednesday, I knew I wanted to be with him and only him. I have Common Variable Immune Deficiency, and had just been diagnosed. Doctors were convinced I had cancer. Drew didn't even flinch. He went to every appointment with me and it wasn't long before he moved into my little house. 10 years ago.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? His proposal. He planned our usual trip to Disney and Universal for the birthday that he shares with my best friend. We are all massive fans of Harry Potter, so we were all just having a wonderful day in the Wizarding World. His brother was recording as we walked into Diagon Alley. Drew pulled me to the side. Adina moved away to give us privacy, but he called her back. Then he got down on his knee and proposed! I’m not easily surprised, but this was huge! That was 2019. We married in ’23.
What would you do with $20,000?Our dream is to buy property with a large house for us, Adina and her niece and nephew, but also space to put some tiny homes. In addition to having our moms close to us, we want to provide transitional housing for kids aging out of foster care. We plan to work with them to help them build life skills, get their licenses, get jobs, etc. We also plan to rescue senior shelter dogs, grow some food, and raise chickens. Helping out will be how fosters can "pay rent.”
