Connect How did your love story begin?

We met in Austin, TX on the app, Hinge, and had our first date - a brunch downtown. The date lasted 3 hours ending with a long walk across Congress bridge, a kiss on the cheek, and Jen saying, “I think you’re lovely!” Since then, we’ve built a life grounded in love, trust, and resilience supporting each other through cancer recovery, adventures (marathons/competitive eating), and everyday life. That first date led to a swan boat proposal and a future we’re building hand in hand.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

On the morning of our wedding, Yasir snapped a photo of our two dogs and two cats peacefully gathered in the living room watching him leave for the venue. In the photo, the shadow of his hand is visible as he waves them goodbye. It felt like they were sending him off with well wishes capturing a perfect moment of unity and love. It was one of the first times our blended fur family sat together like that: calm, connected, and full of the love we share as a couple and now, as a family.

What would you do with $20,000?

We’d use it to build the life of which we’ve dreamt. First, toward fertility treatments to grow our family. Second, to help launch Jen’s therapy private practice specifically helping women through the mental health challenges around breast cancer diagnosis and recovery. Third, to take a much-needed honeymoon to reconnect. And finally, we’d give back to breast cancer nonprofits that supported Jen—so more women feel seen, supported, validated, and empowered during their most difficult chapters.
