We met at a NYE party in Terre Haute, 2020 into 2021—both of us decided last-minute to go. My cousin handed Jed a plate of food, and after one bite he said, “This is delicious!” She pointed at me, and he made his way over. We hit it off instantly, talking and drinking the night away. By midnight, I had a drink in one hand and Jed making me laugh in the other. We’ve been toasting to that night ever since.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Our favorite memory? When Jed went full stealth mode, secretly asking my family and friends if he could propose. On Easter, with his sister and 5-year-old niece as his adorable accomplices, he hid the ring in a golden egg. Then his niece popped up holding a sign asking me to marry him. I cried, laughed, and briefly forgot how Easter egg hunts worked. Best surprise ever—10/10 would say yes again!
What would you do with $20,000?With this money, we could finally have the wedding we both never got to experience—a day full of love, laughter, and family. It would also help us find a new home with the handicap access Jed and my brother need. I care for them both daily, and creating a safe, loving space for our little family would mean more than words can say.
