Connect How did your love story begin?

Jason & Danyell’s journey is a unique one with twists & turns that ultimately loops back around to true love. 6 years together, 6 years apart. We found each other again, this time forever. We met in 2011 thru friends & were immediately drawn to each other. We grew in love & planned our future, then it all fell apart. We went our separate ways & over time we grew into the versions of ourselves that each other needed. The journey of our reboot has been like a familiar map with a lot of new roads.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Our recent engagement. Jason hates hiking but knows Danyell loves it. The plan was Jason taking Danyell to hike at her favorite nature reserve & at the right spot by the lake dropping the question. Nature had other plans - torrential downpour. Jason hoped it would stop soon. It didn’t. Throwing plans literally to the wind he proposed in the rain at the entrance to the hiking path. It was a movie moment. 10 minutes later the sky cleared, a rainbow appeared & we hiked alone at sunset by the lake.

What would you do with $20,000?

We hope to create the dream backyard space for our ceremony & life together. Danyell is an artist & Jason is a nonprofit leader. Community being important to us both, we are working hard to beautify our home’s backyard space to host our family & closest friends for our ceremony…even planning to plant a tree as part of the ceremony. We want to spend our lives together in that beautiful space where we will seal the deal of our love reboot & continue to grow together as we watch that new tree grow.
