From a NYE kiss to long distance, border scares & a Costa Rica leap—now we cook at home in Omaha. Love finds a way.
You decide who wins $20,000 and appears in Variety magazine as America’s Favorite Couple
Our love story began on New Year’s Eve 2018 at a house party in Florida. I’m from Toronto, he’s from Omaha. I spotted Jason standing alone and—after a couple drinks—asked if he was single. I kissed him at midnight and we swapped Snapchats. We didn’t talk for a year… then out of nowhere, he invited me to Jamaica. I said yes—then panicked at the airport because I kinda forgot what he looked like physically! One rum punch later, the rest was history!
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? We actually got married without a proposal (because reasons!), but Jason always promised himself he’d do it one day—he was just waiting for a special place to do it. And then we had an opportunity to go to Hawaii for a business trip. Jason secretly rented a helicopter, purchased all the seats so we had it to ourselves, and proposed overlooking the ocean on a remote mountain top on the Big Island. The only other 'passenger' was actually a photographer he hired to snap the beautiful occasion!
What would you do with $20,000?We’d donate a portion to a cause, like UNICEF or a charity supporting children in poverty in Central America (I was born in Honduras). The rest would go toward a trip to New Zealand—a dream destination we’ve talked about for years. We believe in giving back, but also in creating memories that deepen our bond and remind us why we chose each other.
