Connect How did your love story begin?

His 1st wife was abducted & murdered by her best friend’s husband. She was missing for 3 years. I was a reporter, covering the story, & going thru a divorce, wishing I had a husband who loved his wife like he did. At the end of the trial, I invited him for coffee, wanting to recap the whole ordeal. We married on the 14th day after coffee. That was 27 years ago. He is still my perfect husband. We have 8 kids between us, 15 grands and now 4 greats.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

In 2004, we recovered, restored, & repainted the Sanford & Son truck. We had a friend, Don Dimmitt of Argos, Ind. who was letting the truck rot in an overgrown field near his auto salvage yard. A tree was growing thru the bed. We offered to buy it from him but he always refused. Instead, he loaned it to us & we had it until his 2009 death. NBC had painted over one door but I repainted the door & my husband got the truck running. (Whole story on my Facebook page: Linda Lou Mullen-Clevenger)

What would you do with $20,000?

We would return to Alaska and visit Point Barrow, the northernmost spot in the U.S., and stay for about a month. We really want to know what Alaska is like. We would then return to visiting national parks. We went to visit Yellowstone and it was closed. That was worse than when we went to see fireworks over Mount Rushmore and the fireworks were canceled!
