How did your love story begin?

Our love story began in college. We met at a Halloween party and he was the only one who asked to dance with me. We exchanged numbers and laughs and he put me in his phone at “Statue of Liberty Girl.” After many days of texting, I asked James to go on a date with me. The rest is history. I’m no longer “Statue of Liberty Girl” and have been promoted to “Worlds” because we are each others world.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Many memories stand out but one that is especially funny is our first vacation together. We booked a trip to Wisconsin Dells. After many ups and downs, such as changing rooms, ride closures, and long lines, James really wanted to impress me with a fancy dinner. We arrived way over dressed to a place that charged fine dining prices and serenaded us with a live Elvis impersonator who was named Evlis. Things went a little off script but we loved it anyway. We’d go back for 🕺 and 🔥🌋🍹.

What would you do with $20,000?

We are currently making it work in a 500 square foot rental and saving up for our dream wedding. James is working three jobs (sales, serving, and maintenance) and I am working 2 jobs (caregiver and special education teacher) and going back to college for my Master’s degree. $20,000 could help us with our wedding expenses or put a down payment on a house for our future together.
