Connect How did your love story begin?

My best friend had been telling me about her for awhile. When I first met her, I knew about her but she didn't know about me. I was interested, and so was she, but she had her guard up. I remember thinking she wasn't all that friendly. Fast forward to our first date--I had to call her and tell her I would be late picking her up as I had locked myself out of my house AND my car. When we finally got to the restaurant I had picked, it was closed! Thankfully, she gave me the benefit of the doubt.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Our favorite memory is getting engaged 8 years ago. After dating for awhile, I broke up with her. It was the biggest mistake of my life. Exactly 2 years later, after no communication in the hiatus, we met for coffee just to talk. 3 months later, when it was just the two of us and I dropped to one knee to propose, she let out the most genuine joy-filled cry I've ever heard. She kept thinking it wasn't real, and yet both of us knew we had found a soulmate in one another...married 3 months later.

What would you do with $20,000?

We would take each other on a second honeymoon, somewhere remote and tropical- away from work and obligations- and just focus on rest and enjoying the other. We would then take our kids to the beach, our favorite place to go as a family. We would also get a puppy, as we just lost our beloved Goldendoodle unexpectedly a week ago. With whatever was left, we'd throw an epic dinner party with friends and family to celebrate!
