We met at the most chaotic of places—Barney’s Beanery—while I was in my “no losers, no nonsense” era. He asked what I was reading like the hot lead in a coming-of-age movie. What started in a dive bar quickly became endless city walks, art projects, camping trips, and a bond that feels like home. No games, no grand plan—just an instant click that’s only grown deeper, wilder, and more inseparable ever since.

Memorial Day 2024—our first getaway. Every campsite was booked, but Jake said, “Let’s pack the dogs and go with God.” We found one open spot—Camp 44. No service, just beach days, hikes, late-night fires, and friends for life. We felt like interlopers—squatting, maybe? Turns out, the family who had it booked liked us when they came to investigate… and let us stay. It felt fated. That unplanned, unplugged weekend became one of our most magical memories.

We’re 30-somethings in LA chasing big dreams, so the practical move is investing—saving for life's major milestones (you know the ones!!) But the dreamers in us? We’d get an Airstream, hit the road with our two dogs, and document life as two loud lovers exploring small-town America.
