We are a great couple because we have the same belief in art and the power of creation, we are sensitive to the balance and always listening
We would like to thank you for supporting Jacey Cakes in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
Our love story began in 2017 in a barn in Connecticut, working together for a dance company called Pilobolus. Most of the work Pilobolus creates involves partner-acrobatics, and very little clothing. This is done for both practical and aesthetic reasons, and neither of us were concerned with practicality. We worked hard to impress each other and spent every meal break flirting. It was a beautiful singular time where effort came easy and work was nothing but fun.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Jake and I were instructed to quick change in the same hotel room. I scampered ahead and looked back just in time to see Jake, in a daring display of masculinity, leap over a stone wall. He, unfortunately, miscalculated and clipped his foot on the sharp limestone, resulting in a spectacular crash, and heavily bleeding toe. We couldn’t help but to laugh. The pretense was gone, our cards were on the table, and any illusion of “cool” had been sliced away. Our first date was scheduled that night.
What would you do with $20,000?Now 8 years into our relationship and freshly engaged, we are constantly running into financial limitations in our creative work and our wedding planning. If we were $20,000 richer we would put half of it into our next short dance film and the other half into our wedding next fall.
