Connect How did your love story begin?

My sophomore year of H.S., I moved to Virginia and became friends with his sister. For over a year we frequently crossed paths and became really good friends… (he’ll tell you he was waiting for me to figure out we were meant to be more than friends!) One afternoon, after spending the day swimming and hanging out, he needed a ride to work. I offered to take him. As he was getting ready to exit the car, he stopped and pulled me in for a kiss and I let him. That kiss changed everything for me!

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Re-connecting almost 13 years after we were forced apart. We had caught up via social media but hadn’t seen each other in person. I lived in Utah, he was in Florida (where I’m actually from) I was headed to a family wedding so we decided to meet up. I still remember walking up to the door of where he was staying. That moment when he opened the door is still frozen in my mind… I remember wrapping my arms around him and feeling like I was home.

What would you do with $20,000?

We are all about creating as many memories as we can. Sadly, we lost J’s sister, the one who introduced us, unexpectedly last year. It was a reminder of how fragile time is and how important it is to make the most of right now. So we would use the money to continue creating memories that will last our lifetime, whether it’s completing another home project together or making an escape to the beach. What matters most is that we’re together!
