We were both in relationships when we first met. Ivan had just moved from Seattle to Las Vegas with his fiancé of 10 years, while Marcela was helping her boyfriend’s mom promote her therapy work on social media. When Ivan started settling in, he found a therapist—Marcela's boyfriend’s mom—and soon after, she invited him to help with the project. Little did we know that this random twist—an ex’s mom in a therapist’s office—would be how we met one of the most important people in our life.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?We were just friends, dancing on stage at a Daft Punk tribute—both single, both sure we’d stay that way. The crowd cheered like they knew something we didn’t. It felt like stepping into a dream, a scene too perfect to plan. A part of us knew we were falling, but we didn’t say it out loud—until months later, under neon skies at Life is Beautiful, we finally said yes to each other.
What would you do with $20,000?We’d start by paying back my brother, who opened his home to us rent-free when life was falling apart—Ivan was kicked out, and Marcy was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. With the rest, we’d invest in our future—stocks, crypto, and the passion projects that fuel us: our online shop, music, videos, travel, photography, and spinning poi. Creating together is our purpose.
