How did your love story begin?

We met when I (Kayla) left a toxic relationship and was at the lowest point of my life. I was struggling with depression and alcoholism and seeking comfort from my family as much as I could. My cousin wanted me to go to a bonfire and I really did not want to go. I had none of my own clothes or makeup because I had been staying at her house and she finally convinced me to come along. I seen him at the bonfire and immediately felt drawn to him

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Having our son was definitely the best memory for both of us. I was in labor for 12 hours and almost passed out while pushing. Ian wasn’t scared to hold my hand and talk me through it the whole time. And I remember when they handed me our son Ernest, we both cried the happiest tears. He has always been the most supportive person I’ve ever met and has given me so much strength and confidence.

What would you do with $20,000?

We would definitely pay off some of the bills we have. We are also recently engaged and have no finances right now for a wedding. Me and Ian work as hard as we can but still struggle with living check to check. Ian bought his home at age 26 right before we met and works 12 hour days for us to be able to afford to stay afloat. He is truly the best father and cares so much about me and our son
