Connect How did your love story begin?

I can say it began when I saw him at the clothing store. I said to myself I’d never forget him because he was so handsome to me. 5 years later he approached me via a Facebook message. I had no idea it was the handsome man I saw in the store. We talked for a week, then I got into a car accident while I was on the phone with him and thought it was God saying he’s not the one for me. A few months later something told me contact him again. We went out on a date and we’ve been inseparable ever since.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

He said “I love you” first. I remember sitting in his room and I was leaving. When I said “Goodbye,” he said “I love you.” I looked at him with a shocked look on my face and so did he. I could tell he thought he made a mistake, but I smiled and gently told him, “I love you too.”

What would you do with $20,000?

We are married. And we now have a 2 year old child and I’m getting my master’s degree in mental health counseling. Our dream is to buy a house to build up our family and eventually have another child. I would love for our little girl to grow up in a house. Both Hysheem and I come from low income backgrounds and we are breaking our backs for our child to not grow up in a low income setting. But we are beyond blessed because we’ve come so far already…but 20,000 wouldn’t hurt either lol.
