Connect How did your love story begin?

I wanted to show my sons what healthy love looks like, so I went online to eharmony.com. I didn’t know how to “shrink my radius,” so the first crop of men they sent me included David. He looked too good to be true, and in Virginia, so I didn’t “waste my time.” However, that afternoon, I got a “👍” from David on my profile picture, so I figured I’d like his profile back. He sent me a message, and I responded: “You know I’m in NJ, and full custody of three boys, right?” Here we are at 4.5 yrs!

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

David from his first visit has made my boys part of our love story. I spend a lot of time working as a teacher and coach, and when Dave is in NJ, he helps me however he can. The last 10 years have brought me significant challenges raising three boys on a teacher’s salary. For my 50th birthday, David surprised us all, taking all of us to Orlando/Disney for four days. It was unforgettable! His love for me (and then us) has been a true blessing, overcoming long distance, 4.5 yrs.

What would you do with $20,000?

Really, I need to invest the money in my three sons. One of my sons needs braces, which are overdue, also glasses. My twins would like to play AAU basketball. I also will need to invest in a new car in the next six months, and maybe put a few thousand dollars away for an emergency. I work really hard, and life’s demands force us to stay long distance, but he is there to help us in times of need. One of the things I love about Dave is that we are happy doing very simple things together.
