How did your love story begin?

I was 16 and my mother wanted my older sister to date this guy “from a great family.” My older sister wasn’t interested but I loved and trusted my mother. Little did I know, my mother had an agenda. Anyway, I found out when this guy was throwing a party and I showed up. I was quite the introvert and he had no game. I think I had to show up to three other parties before he even noticed me. Once he noticed me, I hooked my talons in.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

We have been together for 38 years. It is hard to pinpoint a favorite memory. He said that his favorite memories include the birth of our children. Whatever, I was in pain. My favorite memory involved poor judgment, pure panic, and a comedic wrap around. The allotted 500 characters is not enough for the story. But it’s worth it. I will tell the story if I’m a finalist.

What would you do with $20,000?

We would help pay for our youngest kid’s wedding. We have tons of debt, but that’s on us - we both chose education as a profession. We have tried our best to set our kids up for success. They are wonderful human beings. My youngest kid is about to get married and she and her fiancé are having to pay for it. I can’t help but to think, if we made more money, our kids would have less stress. This particular kid has so much stress in her life.
