We did long distance for two years before college. Though it was hard, it made us stronger than ever. We thank God that we’re still together
We would like to thank you for supporting Hannah and Sammy in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
We met at 15, but nothing started until I (hannah) visited Colorado the summer we were 16. We started off as just friends, but over time we realized that there was something more. Sammy knew he loved me from that second time he saw me- but I was clueless. We went to a summer camp with a group from his church. The entire week we spent becoming friends, and when the week ended- we both realized that we couldn’t stop thinking about each other. We traded number and started texting all the time.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?There are so many- the countless hours of FaceTime during the 15 months of long-distance, the times spent at our college studying and doing life together. Going to church together every Sunday- and finally our first date in my hometown NYC. We went on a Chipotle picnic where we spent hours talking and realizing we could sit together forever.
What would you do with $20,000?We’d put money mostly towards our school bills- we’re only sophomores in college. Then, a car, our future wedding- and also our churches in both our hometowns.
