During senior year, my basketball season ended, so I had a free 6th period. His friends invited my friends and me to play, and we started running games together. He was always my 2v2 partner—and the best player out of all his friends. He started liking me, but I was unsure if we’d work out, so we stayed in limbo for a month. Eventually, I decided to take a chance on him and here we are 8 years later!
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?We went to Yosemite and did a 16 mile hike. We didn’t make it, and on the way back it started hailing and got dark. It was miserable but so memorable because we kept encouraging each other. Then the car wouldn’t start the day we had to leave because I left the light on. Everything went wrong, but I still had so much fun. It showed me he’ll be there and show up when it matters.
What would you do with $20,000?Roger is applying to take a Masters program for Human Factors. He’s been struggling with the job market, and is pivoting in his career. The course is roughly $25k - $30k. I would use the 20k to pay for his tuition so he can get the career start he needs. He’s a smart man, but the world has been unkind.
