I grew up in Ohio and went to BGSU. James is from Texas and we met in college. We were paired randomly in our intro to music education class. I was dating someone else at the time. But during music school which is really really hard, him becoming my best friend was easy. Fast forward to now we are both K-6 band/orchestra music teachers in Texas at schools in the same district.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?We performed “The Only Duet in the World written from Violin and Tuba” by PDQ Bach (Peter Schikle). Performing it was hilarious because we embraced the contrast of our music and personality. It was a great depiction of differences being a compliment to the other in a great love story!
What would you do with $20,000?We are looking to get married! We are also looking for ways to invest in our music students and community. We are both very thoughtful people so we would use it in a way that would benefit those around us and our future.
