Back in high school, on December 5, 1988, Greg was a junior with a driver’s license, and Shellie was sophomore without one. Greg and his friend asked Shellie and her friend if they wanted a ride off campus for lunch, they said YES and jumped in Greg’s 67 VW Bus. So, technically, our first date was at McDonald’s! Greg went into the Navy right out of high school. We started our little family young, but it was built on love. We have two amazing children and have been blessed with a grandson.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?If we had to pick one memory, it would be our vow renewal. We never had a big wedding; we got married at the OutPost Wedding Chapel right before Greg got deployed to Operation Desert Storm. On Shellie’s birthday in 2011, Greg got down on one knee and asked her to marry him again. It was so sweet and romantic; he was actually nervous… like she would say no. We finally got our big wedding, and all our friends and family watched us profess our love and renew our vows. It was magical!
What would you do with $20,000?We have a new amazing favorite memory! We just found out that our daughter is a perfect match for Greg and is going to donate a kidney to him. The surgery is coming up soon! Did we already say that we have awesome children? With the $20,000.00 we would pay any bills incurred from the surgery and take the family on a cruise to celebrate Greg’s second chance at life!
